Gluten free overnight oats have become my favorite mid-morning snack. I say snack because I always have it between breakfast and lunch.
Many people make overnight oats, throw them in their bag in the morning, and eat them on the way to work or after arriving at work. Whatever the case, gluten free overnight oats are yummy and can be made to your liking.
Here is what you will need to make overnight oats:
- Mason jar
- Gluten free oats – Bobs Red Mill Oats or Quaker Oats
- Flaxseeds
- Fruit
- Peanut butter
Here is how I make my gluten free overnight oats:
I will either use Bob’s Red Mill Gluten free Oats or Gluten free Quaker Oats and pour a ½ cup of gluten free oats into a mason jar. I will add an equal amount of water. (½ cup) Then I will add a handful of frozen berries. By the time I eat the oats, the fruit is thawed out. I prefer frozen fruit so it stays fresh longer and I am not running to the store every other day. I will also add a banana and peanut butter and let it sit overnight. By the time I have it for a snack in the morning, it has soaked up all of the water and is ready to eat!
This is the way I make and prefer my overnight oats, however, there are many different ways you can prepare your overnight oats. You can add anything you’d like to add flavor and change the consistency. Here are some suggestions for gluten free overnight oats if the way I make it is a little too plain for you.
- Add protein powder
- Add milk of choice instead of water
- Add granola
- Add honey
- Add cinnamon
- Add yogurt
- Add nuts
- Add chia seeds
- Add chocolate chips
- Add sweetener
- Add sugar
- Add coconut shreds
The possibilities are endless! Make it to your liking and enjoy gluten free overnight oats as a dessert, healthy breakfast, or on-the-go snack
